Stephens County proudly announces the screening of the INSP Film, County Line, at the Historic Ritz Theatre in Toccoa. County Line was shot in and around the Toccoa/Stephens County area.
The Ritz Theatre was originally constructed in 1939, and became known as the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts in 1982. In late 2012, the future of this Toccoa landmark was assured when the Fox Theatre Institute selected the Schaefer Center for an Economic, Preservation, and Design Plan grant. The Historic Ritz Theatre at the Schaefer Center is now operated by Main Street Toccoa, which facilitates downtown development in the City of Toccoa. Accredited in 1999 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Main Street Toccoa is one of only eight Georgia Exceptional Main Streets (GEMS) in the State out of over 100.
Last year, the Ritz Theatre hosted the premier of the movie Heritage Falls which was also shot in and around the Toccoa/Stephens County area.
