Audio Storytelling in Atlanta: The Next Big Thing
Speakers: Payne Lindsey and Donald Albright, Tenderfoot TV; Jason Hoch, HowStuffWorks
Description: Atlanta-based Tenderfoot TV is the new creative force in the exploding medium of Podcasting, and a great example of the top tier creative talent coming out of Atlanta. Co-founded by filmmaker Payne Lindsey and music industry executive, Donald Albright, Tenderfoot TV is a content creation company that serves as a home for storytellers. The company burst on to the scene last year with their viral investigative podcast “Up and Vanished,” which saw 150 million downloads and helped crack the 11-year-old missing person’s case of Georgia native, Tara Grinstead. The team now has multiple projects in the works, including a docu-series in development with Oxygen. Their newest podcast, co-produced by Atlanta-based podcast powerhouse, HowStuffWorks, is “Atlanta Monster,” exploring the horrific Atlanta Child Murders from 1979-1981. Atlanta Monster hit No. 1 on Apple Podcasts a full week ahead of premiere and has seen millions of downloads as this investigative narrative rolls out week by week. Tenderfoot TV co-creators Payne Lindsey and Donald Albright, as well as Jason Hoch, Head of New Initiatives for HowStuffWorks, will discuss their experience as content creators in Atlanta, and how podcasting is quickly becoming the next medium to impact the state.
